If You Actually Want To Do Something About This:

thespectacularspider-girl:

If you’re wanting to show your displeasure, don’t just tag staff or support.  Take a page out of other consumer revolts and make sure your displeasure is known.

Don’t be an idiot.  Do not threaten, harass or otherwise make this personal.  Contact these companies, make your displeasure known, alert them that you are a customer and you will be leaving their brand across all boards unless they reverse their decision.

Be clear, be concise, be polite, but make your displeasure known.

New Info Will Be Added As I’m Made Aware Of It

Edit: This does nothing if it isn’t shared around

Pillowfort seems to be back, but its really slow right now.  Probably due to either new users or the new security measures.

I’m trying to export my blog to wordpress as an archive, but I don’t think its working.

Hey so @staff it’s really really shitty to flag as explicit a post about my gay uncle who died due to AIDS.

@staff this is unacceptable

Thank you. I didn’t even see a notification – I just came across it while I was scrolling through my blog to see if anything was flagged.

I’m honestly pretty upset about this. It’s also wild considering the history of the AIDS epidemic and how the US government censored PSAs about the epidemic to not mention gay men because it might be seen as endorsing “deviant” behavior. I’m not saying that’s why this was flagged, I’m just saying there’s relevant history here.

Wow. I’m so sorry this happened to your post.

When people ask what we’re so worried about with the new policy this is the answer.

ajax-daughter-of-telamon:

I don’t post NSFW content for the most part, but I have zero confidence in the ability of any screening algorithm developed by Tumblr to tell the difference between a picture of two characters Doing It™ with gusto and a picture of a doorknob, so I am by no means considering myself exempt LOL.

And now a warning about drafts

bogleech:

You ever write up a post you decide will be too controversial or embarrassing but leave it in your drafts to sleep on and then forget about it? How about real personal stuff you weren’t sure you wanted to share at the time? Heavy-ass receipts on bad shit you’re leaving there only just in case you’re forced to use them?

Well if any of your drafts get flagged by the new system, a mod can apparently see them in with all your other flagged posts, and if they un-flag them, it publishes them automatically as a brand new post. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Yeah apparently a lot of people can only see a few posts of mine more recent than seven years old

Oh apparently all my posts are there but ANY FLAGGED POST OF YOURS THAT GETS APPROVED BY A MOD GETS BUMPED UP LIKE IT’S BRAND NEW.

Thanks tumblr that’s not going to be its own mini disaster for blogs with hundreds of false flaggings at all
